After Care
Heal it right.
Follow these steps and your tattoo will heal cleanly and stay sharp for years.
- 01
Leave the bandage on
Your artist will tell you exactly how long — usually 3–6 days. Don't remove it early or you risk infection.
- 02
Wash your hands
Always wash thoroughly with soap and water before touching the bandage or tattoo.
- 03
Wash the tattoo
Water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. No washcloth or sponge. Pat dry with a clean towel.
- 04
Apply ointment
A thin layer of aftercare ointment or fragrance-free moisturizer. Don't overdo it.
- 05
Avoid soaking
No baths, pools, or excessive moisture for the first 3 weeks.
- 06
Avoid tight clothing
Loose clothing prevents rubbing and irritation.
- 07
Avoid direct sunlight
Sun damages a healing tattoo and fades the result.
- 08
Avoid heavy exercise
Skip workouts that cause excessive sweating for the first 5 days.
- 09
Don't scratch or pick
Let it flake naturally. Picking causes fading and infection.
- 10
Don't shave over it
Wait until fully healed before shaving the area.
- 11
Be patient
Full healing takes 2–4 weeks. Don't rush.
- 12
Keep it moisturized
Even after healing, regular moisturizing keeps the tattoo sharp for years.
